Digital Fluency Intensive

Really disappointed today the exam was a challenge. Need to spend some time in the holidays to go over the parts of the exams that I need to work on. Not really much to say.

Thanks to Dorothy, Matt and Gerhard for their support this term, lovely to meet more
teachers in the Maiakalani Cluster.

Digital Fluency Intensive Week 8

Week 8 and our last week of Learn, Create, Share with our amazing support Dorothy, Matt, Gerhard and today, James. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with the 2017 Term 3  Digital Fluency Intensive Group. What a term this has been, high points during the term for me were getting to Learn, Create and Share with other Manaiakalani teachers it has been a pleasure spending Friday's with you all.

This Friday we spent time working in New Site. We all created a new site which we have linked our Class Blogs, Class Sites and Professional Blogs which will be a good way to keep in touch with each other. I also linked our Multimodal Brainstorm activity for the story of the Lion and the Mouse. Google New Site was so much easier to work with then Google Create a site, so thankful I got this opportunity to get support  and a whole day to play and work on this.  Below is a screen shot of my learning, and a lot of creating and the end result with a link to this site.

In week 9 we will all sit a 3 hour exam for our Level 1 Google Education Badge. Good Luck everyone.

Digital Fluency Intensive.

Week 7
Today we looked at making our site page visible and engaging for learners.
When looking at my own site I wondered what my learners thought about it because they are the ones that will use this site everyday.
In our discussions I found out that the students thought it was too busy and there were buttons that had no links, they wanted something new and different. Below is the learning site page.
I took into account all the things my learners discussed and made changes. So far I have my WALT, all the books for the week in it's own box,  word work is in it's own box and activities in the other. The box to the right is something different  and new the students have not seen this, they are Ready to Read audio books.

Digital Fluency Intensive Week 6

Week 6: In DFI last week Dorothy talked about the importance of Visible teaching and learning. I have since looked at my learning site page I made at the beginning of the year for my learners. Having a year 2 class is great, the potential to make our learning site page more visible is endless and I look forward to being a part of creating a new Team 2 collaborative learning site page for our new SHARED LEARNING SPACE next year.

We looked at building our very own Professional Standards for the Teaching Profession site using tables and HTML. I really enjoyed this because we split into 3 small groups and got time to work at our own pace and really focus and understand the technical side of site building. Thanks Gerhard for assisting us in setting up our Professional Standards site page.
Below is a snapshot of my Professional Teaching and Our Code Our Standards.
